Clovis People, Vol. 3 adds significantly to Taylor's increasingly ambitious body of work. He mines new territory from an ancient--perhaps prehistoric--blues with grit, humanity, and an elliptical musical personality. Customers Who Bought This Item Also BoughtPrice: $

Jul 01,  · Clovis People Vol. 3 [no, there are no Volumes 1 and 2] opens with “Rain So Hard,” and it’s pure magic. Mr. Taylor grabbed me with an undeniable essence of sitar washed psychedelic music straight out of the 60’s, and then slides into a Jazz/Blues thing that just sent shivers strolling down my spine with it’s hypnotic layered washes of complex stripped down songs/5(4).

Jan 01,  · His music is consistent and does the driving for the person with their ear glued to their speakers/headphones or both. Otis Taylor and his music are future Bach and Beethoven for the blues. Terrific album, and wonderful production values with Clovis People, Vol. and it is the kind of CD you can take with you to audition speakers/5(22).

Over a decade, folk-blues songwriter Otis Taylor has come up with compelling, often puzzling album titles; Clovis People, Vol. 3 is no exception. For starters, there aren’t any previous volumes. Also, the Clovis People he refers to don’t exist.
